William Morris, born 24 March 1834 in Walthamstow and died 3 October 1896 in Hammersmith, London, was a British manufacturer, textile designer, printer, writer, poet, lecturer, painter, draughtsman and architect, famous both for his literary works and his libertarian political commitment, He was famous for his literary works, his libertarian political activism, his publishing work, and his decorative arts creations as a member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, which were among the sources of the Arts and Crafts movement that was one of the most important influences in Britain in the 20th century.
